1. Who We Are

Crowning English (also known as "Crowning English With Shampod") is an online English learning platform based in Arambag, Motijheel, Dhaka, Bangladesh, founded and operated by Shampod Bhowmick. Through the website https://crowningenglish.com.bd, the Crowning English mobile app, and our official social media channels (together, the "Platform"), we offer SSC, HSC, university admission, medical admission and job-exam English courses, printed books of the Crowning Touch Series, e-books, suggestions, practice exams and related learning services.

In this policy, "Crowning English", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Crowning English. "You" and "your" refer to any student, parent, guardian, customer or visitor who uses the Platform.

2. Your Consent

By creating an account, placing an order, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read this Privacy Policy and that you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described here. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 16). Withdrawing consent will not affect anything we lawfully did before you withdrew it, but it may mean we can no longer provide some services, such as course access or delivery.

We handle personal information in line with the laws of Bangladesh, including the Personal Data Protection Ordinance, 2025 (and any law that replaces or amends it), the Information and Communication Technology Act, 2006, and the applicable cyber security laws of Bangladesh.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you give us

• Account information: your name, mobile number, email address, password, profile photo (optional), and, where needed for a course, your institution, class or HSC/SSC batch, group (Science, Arts, Commerce) and target exam.
• Guardian information: for students under 18, the name and phone number of a parent or guardian, where we ask for it.
• Order and delivery information (printed books): recipient name, full delivery address, district and thana, delivery phone number, and any delivery notes.
• Payment information: the payment method used (such as bKash, Nagad, Rocket, card or bank), the transaction ID, the amount, and the last digits of the paying number or card. We do not collect or store your PIN, OTP, full card number or card security code (see Section 5).
• Learning information: courses and e-books you have bought, classes watched, lesson progress, exam answers, scores, leaderboard rank, assignments, and questions you submit for doubt solving.
• Communications: messages, emails, call records with our support team, complaints, feedback, survey answers and testimonials you choose to share.

3.2 Information collected automatically

• Device and log information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device model, app version, date and time of visits, pages viewed, and referring pages.
• Login and session information, including the number of devices and locations logged into your account. We use this to protect your account and to detect account sharing.
• Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).

3.3 Information from third parties

• Payment gateways and mobile financial service (MFS) providers confirm whether a payment succeeded and share the transaction ID.
• Courier partners share delivery status, delivery attempts and proof of delivery for printed book orders.
• If you sign in using Google, Facebook or another social login, we receive your basic profile details (name, email, profile photo) as permitted by your settings on that service.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and give you access to the courses and e-books you buy.
• To process payments, issue invoices and order confirmations, and handle refunds.
• To pack, ship and deliver printed books, and to contact you about your delivery.
• To run classes, exams, leaderboards, progress tracking and doubt-solving sessions.
• To send you class schedules, routine changes, exam reminders, important notices and service-related messages by SMS, email, phone call, app notification, WhatsApp or Telegram.
• To send offers, new course announcements and promotional messages, only where you have not opted out (see Section 12).
• To protect the Platform, prevent fraud and payment abuse, detect account sharing and piracy, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
• To understand how the Platform is used, fix errors, and improve our content, books and services.
• To comply with our legal obligations, including tax, VAT and accounting record keeping, and lawful requests from authorities.

5. Payment Security

All online payments on Crowning English are processed by licensed payment gateways and MFS providers operating in Bangladesh. Your card details, MFS PIN and OTP are entered directly on the secure page of the payment provider and are never visible to, or stored by, Crowning English. Crowning English, its teachers or its staff will never ask you for your PIN, OTP or password over phone, SMS or social media. If anyone asks for these in our name, do not share them and report it to us immediately.

Please make payments only through the official checkout on our website or app. We are not responsible for payments sent to personal numbers or to anyone claiming to represent us outside our official channels.

6. When We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only in the following cases, and only as much as is needed:

• Payment partners: to process payments and refunds.
• Courier and delivery partners: your name, phone number and address, so that printed books can be delivered.
• Technology service providers: hosting, video streaming, SMS, email, app notification, analytics and customer support tools that help us run the Platform. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• AI service providers: where you use an AI-powered feature (see Section 7), the question you type is processed by our AI technology provider to generate an answer.
• Legal and safety reasons: where required by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or where needed to investigate fraud, piracy, security threats or violations of our Terms.
• Business transfer: if Crowning English is restructured, merged or transferred, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy.
• With your consent: in any other case, only when you have agreed.

If you join our official Facebook groups, Telegram channels or other community spaces, your name, profile and posts are visible to other members and are also governed by the privacy policy of that platform.

7. AI-Powered Features

The Platform may include AI-assisted features, such as "Ask Shampod Bhaiya" style doubt-solving, lesson summaries or grammar explanations. Questions you type into these features, along with relevant learning data such as which lessons you have completed, may be processed by a third-party AI technology provider to generate a response. Please do not enter sensitive personal information (such as NID numbers, passwords or financial details) into these features. AI answers are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, keep your cart, measure traffic and improve the Platform. You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings, but some parts of the Platform (such as login, checkout and course player) may not work properly without them. Third-party tools such as analytics or advertising services may set their own cookies, which are governed by their own policies.

9. How Long We Keep Your Information

• Account and learning information is kept for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that you can recover access to courses or e-books you bought.
• Order, invoice and payment records are kept for as long as required by the tax, VAT and accounting laws of Bangladesh, even if you delete your account.
• Delivery information is kept for as long as needed to complete delivery and handle returns, and then for record keeping.
• Information needed to resolve a dispute, prevent fraud or enforce our Terms is kept until the matter is closed.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Copies may remain in secure backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

10. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable technical, physical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, and limited staff access on a need-to-know basis. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for logging out of shared devices. If we become aware of a data breach that affects you, we will inform you and the relevant authority as required by law.

11. Students Under 18

Many of our students are under 18 years of age. A person under 18 may use the Platform and make purchases only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By allowing a student under 18 to register, the parent or guardian agrees to this Privacy Policy on the student's behalf. We do not knowingly use the personal information of students under 18 for targeted advertising. If a parent or guardian believes that their child has given us information without consent, please contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, delete it.

12. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to the laws of Bangladesh, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you and ask how it is used.
• Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete (most profile details can be edited from your dashboard).
• Delete your account and personal information, subject to the records we must keep by law (see Section 13).
• Withdraw consent or object to certain uses of your information.
• Opt out of promotional messages at any time by replying STOP where available, using the unsubscribe link in emails, or contacting us. You will still receive essential messages about your purchases, class schedules and account security.
• Complain to us, and, if you are not satisfied, to the relevant data protection authority of Bangladesh.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

13. Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account by emailing us from your registered email address or calling us from your registered mobile number. Once your account is deleted, you will permanently lose access to all courses, e-books, exam history and progress linked to it, and this cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund. Transaction and invoice records will be kept as required by law.

14. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to YouTube, Facebook, Telegram, partner exam platforms and other websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these websites. Please read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. For important changes, we will also notify you through the website, app or SMS/email. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the updated policy.
